Performance of polyurethane (PU) wood grain powder coating

1、 Features

Compared with other types of powder coating. Polyurethane powder coating has the following characteristics;

(1) In the melting flow, the melting viscosity is low, especially the sealer does not have any chemical reaction before unsealing, so that the powder coating has enough leveling time and the film has good leveling property. The realization of the new technology of internal sealing urea diketone curing agent makes the air pollution of the powder coating almost zero;

(2) Good adhesion to the coating, no need for primer;

(3) The preparation range of the coating is wide, and the coating with different performance requirements and curing speed can be prepared;

(4) Good chemical resistance.

However, when the polyurethane powder coating is baked, it will release the sealer and produce smoke and peculiar smell. When the white powder is applied, it is easy to be smoked yellow and black by smoke.

2、 High hardness and poor mechanical properties compared with pure polyurethane powder

Due to the high crosslinking density of polyurethane, the hardness after film formation is higher than that of pure polyester, resulting in poor physical and mechanical properties compared with polyester, which is also the advantage of good transfer off paper, poor flexibility of matte and flat light, and relatively better high light. Therefore, the undercutting can pass, the recoil can not, does not affect the adhesion, the surface scratch resistance is better than polyester.

3、 Poor boiling water resistance

The boiling resistance of flat and Matt polyurethane powder coating is not as good as that of pure polyester powder coating, and the color stability after boiling is better than that of polyester, and the adhesion force after boiling is worse than that of pure polyester.
